Kuyper Consulting Engineers were appointed to assist with designing a multi-temperature 7881m² warehouse and refrigeration facility.

Medium voltage supply:

An 11kV supply was installed to the site from the 11kV ESKOM overhead line via a 70/3c 11kV XLPE cable.  The supply was connected to a Non-Metering RM6 unit equipped with an Aux coil pack for overtemperature and Buchholtz relay protection.  The facility has the necessary docking stations and dock levellers to ease the loading of products.

Backup power:

A 40kVA three-phase UPS and Power factor correction were implemented. Two 500kVA synchronized generators are planned for power during Load shedding or other power outages.

Lighting:

The factory employs food-grade luminaires and equipment with a low and high-care facility for the best food processing plant facility in South Africa. Luminaires supplied by Genesis One
