Medium and low voltage electrical reticulation –

Enstra Cold Storage, located in Springs, Gauteng, is a state-of-the-art 4,100m² multi-temperature warehouse and refrigeration facility, designed and planned by Kuyper Electrical Services. The facility features docking stations, dock levellers for efficient product loading, and an electrically operated rack storage system, which were integrated to improve operational efficiency.

Approximately 322m of medium voltage (MV) cable was installed from the 6.6kV Enstra substation to a new 1000kVA transformer unit positioned outside the building. The transformer is remotely protected with Buchholtz and temperature relays to ensure increased safety. The internal low voltage (LV) reticulation was carried out using LV Busbars, which connect to the main LV board and Ammonia refrigeration plant electrical distribution boards.

The facility incorporates advanced Ammonia Cooling technology, Li-iron forklifts, energy-efficient LED lighting, and well-equipped office spaces, ensuring sustainable, high-performance operations.

Energy Efficiency
Power-saving and monitoring hardware were installed in the electrical distribution boards to optimize energy usage, contributing to enhanced overall efficiency across the facility.

The development of a fresh produce market in the Mbombela area, Mpumalanga, consisting of 17 buildings, including the main building of 33 000m² that is in the process of construction as well as the erecting of an 11kV supply to the site. The main building consists of 29 cold room units. The facility has buildings and from truck stops to taxi ranks with ablutions.
