New Electricity Connection Consultants in Pretoria

Engineering support for new electricity connections, supply upgrades and development electrical infrastructure.

Plan the electrical supply before construction starts

A new connection needs more than an application. The proposed load, point of supply, metering arrangement, reticulation route, protection and project programme must work together. Kuyper Electrical Services assists developers, owners and professional teams in Pretoria and Tshwane with the engineering information needed to prepare a technically sound submission and installation plan.

Eskom and City of Tshwane electrical supply applications

We assist with the engineering information and technical coordination for municipal and Eskom supply applications. The applicable supply authority depends on the property and its point of supply. For a Pretoria or Centurion development, send the site details and any City of Tshwane or Eskom correspondence so the application route and required design scope can be assessed.

A supply upgrade starts with the proposed maximum demand and the existing connection conditions. The appointment may include load assessment, supply concepts, drawings and coordination with the authority. Approval, connection charges and energisation remain subject to the authority and its requirements.

Engineering support and deliverables

  • Load assessments and maximum-demand calculations
  • MV/LV supply concepts, connection and substation layouts
  • Electrical reticulation drawings and specifications
  • BOQs, tender support and contractor coordination
  • Metering, distribution-board and protection requirements
  • Municipal or utility technical coordination and site support

Approvals and connection dates remain with the applicable authority, but a clear, compliant technical package reduces avoidable redesign and delays. See our electrical reticulation service or request a consultation.

Section 82 documentation and RM6 application assistance

Kuyper Electrical also assists with Section 82 engineering documentation and RM6 applications where applicable to the project. Send the property details, development stage and the requirements or correspondence received from the relevant authority. We will assess the required engineering scope and confirm the deliverables in a project-specific proposal.

The applicable documentation, sign-off and approval route must be established for the particular development. Our assistance does not replace the authority’s approval process.

New connection questions

What information should I send?

Send the site address, intended land use, site plan, available supply details and an equipment or tenant load schedule. Include any municipal or utility correspondence. This helps define the assessment and design work before a proposal is prepared.

Who approves the connection?

The applicable municipality or utility controls its approvals, supply conditions and connection programme. Our role is to support the technical assessment, design and coordination; an engineering appointment does not guarantee an approval date.

What happens if the available supply is too small?

A capacity assessment can establish demand and identify upgrade options. Where new infrastructure is needed, reticulation design develops the network and documentation.
